Romania is the 35th country to host an IKEA store, the newly opened facility being the 235th held by the company. The IKEA franchise is operated in Romania by Moaro Trading, who's officials say new stores may open in other cities during the following five years. An optimistic scenario indicates 7 or 8 stores before 2012. Company representatives say their decision to invest in Romania came due to the recent economic growth and European accession.
